A Yellowstone volcanologist has announced a three day eruption could happen in July. We take a look at the Yellowstone supervolcano and how it's activity is increasing.
Whenever there's slight activity at yellowstone it usually always makes the news. This is because underneath Yellowstone national park lies a monster supervolcano. Over the years it has grabbed the attention of not only scientists but the public. This is mainly because if it did erupt it would have a massive effect on the planet. The system is still considered active and contains a reservoir of magma big enough fill the Grand Canyon several times over.
Over the past 2 years this supervolcano has been showing scientists that it's still active. Scientists warned that last year two of the three warning signs that there was going to be an eruption was picked up on.
