Originally published early 2012. one spends their whole life making the shirt that you throw away one spends their whole life making sure an indifferent world is a-ok one spends their whole life eating whats right just to contact food poisoning one spends their whole life a new breed of malaria, conditioned fear and hysteria efficient lives so meta-meta, increasingly smaller smaller becoming the virus, a host that eats its own body becoming the virus, a host that attacks its own body nanonuts and nanite dust, in our trust funds we now trust saving all our hard earned cash as erosion eats away the Earth's crust becoming the virus, a host that its own body becoming the virus, a host that attacks its own body you always say how great it is to be blessed as if we know something that the cursed don't know becoming the virus etc. to me it seems more like matters of circumstance, to me it seems like matters of chance becoming the virus etc. virus on the prowl moving ever steadfast digitized sprawl collapsin' the first last jelly on the toast continental breakfast matter eating matter, matter killing matter matter mating with matter, mind over matter its all matter in the end, it don't matter in the end its all matter in the end, it don't matter in the end oh baby let's get real raw and roll around on the dirty ground (repeat) we built this city on a sturdy foundation of dirt and worms we keep killing the bugs, they keep coming back we built this city on a sturdy foundation of contradictions we keep imprisoning the thugs, they keep coming back we made our beds of dirt upon a single Earth it'll be around long after the last serfs die fightin' over this or that turf sometimes you're born in the summer air, sometimes with the sand that clogs your throat sometimes you're born with one little goat, sometimes you're born with the whole Greek coast sometimes you get enough rope to hang yourself sometimes we can boast about whose choking faster sometimes we win the war, sometimes we're toast (repeat) ^^^^^Chris Robertson, 2012^^^^^^^^
