Description:
I also made a Reddit to brainstorm and discuss various topics. https://www.reddit.com/r/LandonTells Today we have a video covering the sudden shutdown of stream.me yesterday. They completely shutdown the site without any warning whatsoever. This is what Ethan Ralph particularly expressed issue with. Leaving many content creators left in the dark and without a means to stream. At approximately 930am on March 4th stream.me was reported as down. Since then a flurry of reports and speculation have been circling on social media and reddits, including IP2 and other Cx Network streamers reddit. This is because as many of you are aware, Iceposeidon.com is shortly going to be moved to scuffed.com using stream.me's technology. Ice has invested a significant sum in ensuring the website will function, and I've seen speculation that stream.me is going to be moved to scuffed.com. That is as far as I can tell not true. The owners of stream.me made an executive decision to shut down the site following several threats made to their family and their entire lives being doxxed on achan (source Ethan Ralph #killstream). There is a whole lot more details involved but since most of my Ice Poseidon content gets demonetized I'll leave that up to Ethan Ralph on his #killstream. The stream.me being increasingly autistic and niche (edgy) content. It's generally home of those content outcasts that have been blacklisted first from Twitch, then YouTube, and end up finding their home at stream.me – so the content can be quite niche and definitely not for everyone. Stream.me is not switching over to scuffed.com, nor is Ice's investment in stream.me's technology at risk with this shutdown. This is a precautionary and very likely permanent shutdown in order to avoid any further doxxing or threats of any kind. It's unfortunately the current state of our "cancel" culture as PsychIRL has discussed. Whether it's malicious hacking groups targeting individuals or groups of individuals in order to tarnish their names and or cause havoc on their public image or callers invading the privacy of famous livestreamers loved ones and getting them fired from their job – the internet is relentless and savage. The incel culture has propagated to an enormous size, discord is a safe haven for all kids illegal activity that has been allowed to fester and grow, and various anonymous forums from around the world spew hatred and toxicity on a daily basis. This is the current state of the internet. And whilst it provides me with value and entertainment, it is no stranger to the darker side of the human condition and often cases is allowed to flourish. Be careful out there folks, it's just as dangerous in parts of the world wide web as it is in parts of Chicago or any other notorious city. Be careful out there! What do you think? COMMENT BELOW!
